Lessons learned report
Project manager. Coach. Still lifting at 50.
I spent my career delivering complex projects on time. It took me too long to treat my own health the same way.
Background
For more than 12 years I've managed oil and gas and EPC projects in Abu Dhabi. Site visits, long days, weekend work. It's a career I'm proud of, and like most men in that world, my health quietly slid down the priority list.
What went wrong
I wasn't short of motivation. I'd start strong, then a deadline or a trip would knock me off, and I'd start again from zero. No plan survived a busy month.
What changed
I started running my health the way I ran projects: a clear objective, a schedule I could keep, a few numbers I tracked, and an honest review every week. Strength training became the foundation. Martial arts and dance kept me moving, coordinated and enjoying it.
Why I coach
Most fitness advice is written for 25-year-olds with free time. Men in their 40s and 50s with families, travel and responsibility need fewer, smarter sessions, recovery taken seriously, and someone who understands the pressure they're under. That's who I coach.
